Father & Son bookmakers Michael and Alan Eskander started Eskander's Betstar, a Corporate Bookmaking operation licensed and based in Darwin, Northern Territory. Michael Eskander has been in the bookmaking game for 24 years, fielding on the Melbourne Rails and more recently on the Sydney Rails, he was granted his first bookmaker's license in 1984. Alan Eskander, son of Michael was educated at Trinity Grammar Kew and later achieved a bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Economics. Alan received his first bookmaker's license in 1995 and started fielding at Country races, three years later Alan was granted his Metropolitan rails license. Alan is now the biggest oncourse bookmaker in Melbourne.
